Background
As technological self-reliance becomes a key strategic priority, alongside the securities industry’s increasing requirements for data security and business continuity, Huaan Securities prioritizes the modernization of IT infrastructure through autonomous and resilient systems. The company is advancing the ITAI-based transformation of its core business cloud foundation.
Following a comprehensive evaluation of various solutions, Huaan Securities selected SmartX ECP. Leveraging SmartX’s extensive experience in large-scale deployment within the securities industry, proven stability in core production environments, and independently developed distributed storage and technical optimizations, the firm is advancing ITAI transformation and large-scale IT infrastructure construction across four synchronized phases.
Phase 1: Validating ITAI Virtualization Functions and Core Business Support
Huaan Securities conducted validations on virtualization platform functions and core production business performance using SmartX ECP(featuring SmartX native hypervisor – ELF) . Results indicate that SmartX ECP matches international platforms in core capabilities such as resource allocation, lifecycle management, and high availability, while offering advantages in O&M features like automated inspection, disk localization, scheduled snapshots, and rapid cloning. Compared to physical production environments, SmartX ECP delivered superior TPS and exceeded production benchmarks in key scenarios, including client login, standard orders, and holding queries, proving its capability to stably support core securities trading systems.
Phase 2: ITAI Platform Performance Validation via SmartX ECP
Building on initial validations, Huaan Securities deployed SmartX ECP (Intel architecture) in its production environment to support third-party trading systems, achieving stable operation for approximately one year. During the ITAI pilot phase, the firm further tested the solution’s deployment capabilities, resource management, basic performance, and high availability across various hardware environments, including BoostKit and Hygon. SmartX ECP demonstrated stable and superior performance in random I/O scenarios, with IOPS and latency metrics fully meeting the storage requirements of enterprise-grade production systems, confirming the feasibility of large-scale ITAI implementation.
Phase 3: Production Validation of ITAI Cloud Platform via SmartX ECP and Large-Scale Implementation
Based on the performance test results within the ITAI environment, Huaan Securities adopted an incremental approach to advance the production validation and large-scale implementation of SmartX ECP clusters. Starting with development and testing at the Caizhi Data Center, the firm expanded to multi-scenario production validation over three years, utilizing the native ELF virtualization to support both ITAI and non-ITAI workloads. ITAI scenarios encompass core production, asset management, internal administration, and development/testing systems, while non-ITAI scenarios cover core applications such as online trading, investment advisory, custody, and market data services. The platform has now expanded to over 200 nodes in the production environment, covering testing, production, and third-party access zones. It stably supports various core trading systems and leverages SmartX’s hardware-software decoupling to build a "multi-architecture" cloud platform supporting Intel, Hygon, and BoostKit, flexibly meeting business needs at different stages.
Phase 4: Integrating ITAI Cloud Management Platform for Resource Consolidation and Automated Delivery
As infrastructure development continues to deepen, Huaan Securities has integrated SmartX ECP with the ITAI cloud management platform to unify the management of virtual machines across both ITAI and non-ITAI computing environments, strengthening full-lifecycle resource management. Additionally, the cloud management platform is integrated with the ITSM and CMDB platforms. This enables automated ITSM approval and resource delivery upon user request, followed by seamless integration into monitoring and CMDB systems, achieving comprehensive full-lifecycle management of IT resources.
