Simple, Stable, and High-Performance IT Infrastructure for Manufacturing IT Transformation

To achieve efficient management and stable production, Yujin Denso planned a comprehensive digital upgrade, involving the deployment of new business systems such as ERP, MES, OA, PLM, SRM, CRM, MDM, and WMS. Based on hardware requirements, various software vendors initially proposed a physical machine solution consisting of "57 servers + 1 storage set." However, Yujin Denso raised concerns regarding this plan’s low storage configuration, insufficient performance, and potential single points of failure. Additionally, the physical machine approach would have required constructing a new data center and significant maintenance personnel, leading to high costs. Consequently, Yujin Denso clarified its requirements for digital transformation: high performance and high storage capacity to meet business needs; seamless scalability to support rapid expansion; reduced hardware investment to save data center space; and decreased management difficulty and complexity.

HCI Architecture: A Better Fit for Transformation Requirements

During the technical evaluation, Yujin Denso's technical team explored HCI as a more suitable alternative. Through remote demonstrations, they recognized its stability, reliability, high performance, and ease of maintenance. Following discussions with SmartX on the initial configuration, the team concluded that the SmartX ECP solution could meet business requirements with a relatively lower investment. Furthermore, SmartX’s self-developed distributed storage and its extensive experience in finance, healthcare, and large-scale manufacturing provided strong assurance for security and stability. Consequently, Yujin Denso selected SmartX ECP to support its digital transformation.

A 5-Node SMTX Halo HCI Cluster Ensuring Stable Operation of Core Business Systems

In 2022, Yujin Denso initially deployed a 5-node SMTX Halo HCI appliance cluster to host business systems including OA (MySQL), legacy YiFei ERP (SQL Server), Kingdee Finance (Oracle), Changchun Yijia MES, BPM, encryption software, and AD domain. As core business demands grew, Yujin Denso expanded the cluster in 2023 and 2024 to support critical production workloads, such as SAP applications, SAP HANA test libraries, and SAP HANA development libraries.

Stable Business Operations with Enhanced Resource Delivery Speed and Accuracy

Thanks to the reliability assurance of SmartX ECP, no unplanned downtime has occurred since deployment. Currently in a phase of business growth, Yujin Denso utilizes SmartX ECP templates to provision required virtual machines within minutes; even for fresh installations, the timeframe is reduced to hours, significantly accelerating service rollout. Simultaneously, collaborative efficiency across production departments has markedly improved—including inventory management and resource administration across various business systems—enhancing the speed and accuracy of resource delivery while shortening lead times. From order processing and data verification to raw material procurement, processing, and final delivery, the entire production workflow has become more seamless and efficient.
