For higher education institutions, ITAI transformation often intersects with several infrastructure goals at once: replacing or reducing dependence on VMware, moving away from traditional three-tier architecture, improving campus cloud scalability, and strengthening security controls for virtualized workloads. Treating these as separate projects can create duplicated work and inconsistent operations.

This does not remove the need for careful assessment. Migration scope, compatibility, security policy design, and DR objectives should be validated with the university’s actual systems. But by planning these requirements together, higher education institutions can avoid treating ITAI, VMware replacement, and campus security as disconnected infrastructure projects.
