Secure and Stable IT Infrastructure for Production Line Digitalization

Driven by the increasing demand for semiconductor chips, Yangzhou Guoyu Electronics has continuously expanded its investment in digitalization, placing higher requirements on the stability, agility, and scalability of its underlying IT infrastructure. As a 24/7 manufacturing enterprise, the secure and stable operation of its production systems is mission-critical; however, traditional architectures suffer from high failure rates, increasing the risk of business disruption. To address these digitalization needs and the challenges of legacy infrastructure, the company evaluated various IT architectures. Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) stood out due to its advantages in rapid resource deployment and simplified O&M. By adopting HCI, Yangzhou Guoyu Electronics aims to build a more stable, efficient, and scalable modern IT infrastructure to support its rapidly evolving business and market demands.

Selecting SmartX for Reliable and Stable HCI via Multi-Scenario Testing

During the vendor selection process, Yangzhou Guoyu Electronics conducted rigorous POC testing on several HCI solutions. Beyond standard functional, performance, and stability evaluations, SmartX underwent extensive custom scenario testing. These simulations included machine file I/O, database compatibility, node failover under database workloads, and database-level file backups. SmartX ECP demonstrated exceptional stability and reliability across all custom and standard tests. Furthermore, in-depth technical exchanges between SmartX R&D teams and Guoyu Electronics engineers regarding underlying architecture reinforced the company’s confidence in SmartX’s proprietary technology.

SmartX ECP: Ensuring Stable Operations for MES, ERP, and Core Workloads

During the gradual transition, Yangzhou Guoyu Electronics migrated its production services from physical machines to SmartX ECP in just 1.5 days, minimizing the impact of the previously unstable environment. Currently, a 4-node SmartX ECP cluster supports all core business systems, including MES, Yonyou ERP, EDA (in-house developed), and SPC data analysis systems. Over 18 months of operation, the system has maintained a zero-incident record, effectively ensuring the stable continuity of the company's production line operations.

Continuous IT Investment: Building the Foundation for the Industrial Internet

Looking ahead, Yangzhou Guoyu Electronics will focus on developing its Industrial Internet capabilities. Adopting an "IT-first" philosophy, the company will deeply integrate next-generation information technology with industrial systems to achieve digitalized, networked, and intelligent production.
