Traditional Infrastructure Gap Drives Urgent Architecture Upgrades

Founder Fubon Fund’s original systems relied on traditional virtualization, which faced frequent storage single points of failure and complex disaster recovery. Key CC, risk control, and valuation databases ran on physical servers as multi-instance clusters, using EMC VNX 5600 hybrid storage. Over time, these aging servers and outdated configurations became performance bottlenecks, necessitating a comprehensive system upgrade.

Building Cloud-based Database Pools to Support 8 Multi-instance Clusters

Core business operations typically require multiple core databases, ranging from hundreds of GB to several TB, with rigorous demands for reliability and performance. SmartX ECP provides stable database hosting, enabling resource pool construction with just 3 nodes, followed by flexible online expansion and simplified O&M. Accordingly, Founder Fubon Fund deployed a 4-node SmartX ECP appliance to host 8 multi-instance clusters, supporting key systems including CC, risk control, valuation, direct sales, and regulatory reporting.

"In late 2020, facing a tight deadline for a new business system, we leveraged the rapid deployment of the Hyperconvergence Infrastructure (HCI) appliance and existing storage network. We completed the process from delivery to production in just three days, ensuring a successful on-time launch."

Building Resilient DR Resource Pools to Reduce Complexity and Costs

Founder Fubon Fund leverages database replication to synchronize core O32 and TA system data from physical servers to a DR and general business resource pool built on SmartX ECP, as well as to the SSCC Industry Cloud. This architecture meets DR reinforcement requirements, supporting both core and general business operations.

Simultaneously, data from eight business systems—including CC, risk control, valuation, direct sales, and regulatory reporting—is replicated to the HCI-based DR pool and the SSCC Industry Cloud, achieving robust DR reinforcement for all critical databases.

"Since adopting SmartX ECP, we have encountered no data anomalies or performance issues. The management console provides clear, real-time visibility into cluster utilization and VM performance, significantly streamlining operations and maintenance for our team."

Meeting Performance and Reliability Needs While Simplifying O&M

The multi-instance database environment remains stable, meeting Founder Fubon Fund’s requirements for performance, reliability, and unified management. The current DR reinforcement scheme effectively reduces costs; by utilizing database replication technology to synchronize core data to the HCI resource pool and SSCC Industry Cloud, the need for additional replication fees and remote-end database licensing costs is eliminated. Furthermore, the DR pool hosts reporting, transcoding, and exchange gateway workloads, significantly improving resource utilization.

Additionally, SmartX provides professional after-sales support to ensure timely resolution of all technical issues.

"From sales to technical staff, professionalism defines the entire SmartX team. Regardless of the issue, a single point of contact triggers immediate action from a dedicated group, followed by timely updates. Once resolved, a comprehensive record provides a clear, end-to-end trace of the process."
